Valve change activity at a client node. This is one of the biggest nodes in terms of gas production. Because this is a gas facility, the system has weld-on valves and when the valves are bad or a leakage above the reliable API 598 standard is observed, the valves will be replaced.
Topline was contracted to install replacement valves which were issued as materials from the client. Installation of these valves was carried out by cutting out and replacing them. To execute the job, we utilized two qualified welders who completed the necessary welding qualifications. Cutting and replacing a weld on the valve is a tricky task as you could cut the valve and then it becomes either in excess or it becomes too short to install.
Topline was able to ensure that there was no waste of material. We went on to replace four 28 inches valves and six 36 inches valve on the client’s node. various tests were conducted after the installations which are the RT DPI, MPI, X-ray and all the necessary inspections to be done on the valve. All replacement valves remain in service to date. At the end of the project, Topline was given a safety award for all our safety compliance and ensuring there was no injury and no loss time was recorded in the course of these activities. Having completed the project, we were also given other locations owned by the client to carry out similar services, all of which have been completed as of date.
